Lower Washburn is situated to the south west of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, and is made up of five rural areas.

Parish, community and town councils operate at a level below district and borough councils. Parish Meetings take place on the second Thursday every two months, and are scheduled for May, July, September, November, January and March. Meetings are held at the Leathley Village Hall, commencing at 8.00pm. You can attend most council meetings, although usually you won’t be able to speak at them.
